good read to tune into your inner experiences and possible ...

This book had doozens of mis-spelled words throughout the entire book, it was strange? Not sure if that was a mistake on the authors part or the publisher? I'm a grammar freak so I kept noticing them throughout each chapter and thought it was a bit tacky. A bit shorter than expected, I wouldn't say its worth how much you pay with shipping but other than that, good read to tune into your inner experiences and possible past struggles!

Everything Cici writes makes me want to put my hands in the air and say, "YESSS!". It's absolutely refreshing to see a woman who has gone through a similar s*** storm to me and has made it out the other side. I follow Cici on Instagram and I feel like she's the strong, independent friend that I lack, keeping me going. I recommend this book to anyone who's ever fallen in love with someone who has proceeded to lie, cheat and manipulate. Someone that you find yourself making excuses for. Someone that really messes you up. So damn relatable.

An Emotional, Suspenseful, Brilliant Novel

The Lost Girls is an emotional roller-coaster of a book. I winced, I laughed, I smiled and I cried my eyes out. The plot is suspenseful, scary, harrowing and exciting. Mostly though, it is smart. While I read it, I kept thinking, "My goodness, the research this author must do to make a story so smart, so complex, so accurate." The details are intricate; there is never "just a story."

Besides the very smart and well-written plot, there are the emotional scenes, the gripping and well-developed characters, and the usual ambiguous feelings of wanting to finish it but not wanting it to be over. I hope the Lucy/Sean books are never over because I love these characters and having read all the books since Lucy was introduced back before her series, I feel like I've watched her grow up. Sean is my favorite character but I do love all the supporting characters. How I would love to be a Rogen or Kincaid or both.

Time felt like it dragged until this latest book by Allison Brennan was released and now, I've already finished it and have to wait months for the next one. At this point, I don't start to read an Allison Brennan book expecting to do anything but love it but I am still surprised each time by how much I love each book, how each manages to be even better than the last.

Another great read by Brennan

All the Lucy Kincaid novels are wonderfully wicked fast paced stories that never fail to engross and entertain the reader. I would suggest starting with the first Lucy Kincaid novel so you can follow the rich development of all the many fascinating characters that abound in these stories. Ms. Brennan has woven a wonderful tapestry between the Kincaid and Rogan clans that will have you turning pages until the wee hours of the night as both families fight against some of the world's worst deviants who prey on those unable to protect themselves. The subject matter can be horrific and appalling and take you places you'll wish you never knew about but interwoven with amazing characters so deeply concerned and committed to love and justice and each other that you'll be spellbound and always wanting more. Give this author a read and you'll find yourself going back for more! This voracious reader has already purchased the next book in this series due out next year.

Once again I knew I wouldn't be able to start this book without reading entirely at one time. Love, love this group of characters and their relationship to each other. Love Lucy and her strength . It was non stop movement from beginning to end. Wish I had the words Mrs. Brennan does to explain how much I enjoy reading her books. I know there are truly evil people in this world but there are also truly good and wonderful people to balance that evil. We all have strength we don't realize we have. Mrs Brennan shows this in her books which makes me return to read when she writes.

However, there is only so much that can be communicated through 140 characters or a six-minute vlog. In this book, I’m sharing stories from my life that have taken longer to process, in the hope that maybe it will help you do some internal processing of your own.

These are tales of family, faith, mental health, LESBIAN SEX, and my ongoing journey to love myself (and not just my selfies). Though sometimes dark, these stories might make you laugh and cry, and hopefully they’ll motivate you to take the time and space you need to fully load.

Because in spite of our world of constant output and expression, it’s important to let yourself buffer at your own rate.

This is not a book for children!

This was not an appropriate book for young children. It is a story about the black plague and how a little girl loses her parents to it! It did not focus much at all on a unicorn. Very disappointing, my daughter wanted to quit reading it after the first few pages and I didn't blame her.

Not for kids

This is NOT a bedtime story for kids! While it is an interesting concept, it is sad and not appropriate for kids at all. Especially do not read at bedtime. The cover looks like it should be for kids, but it is not. I'm glad I read the reviews on this and decided not to read it to my kids. I write children's books, and I would not put that it's a bedtime story in the title if there people dying of the black death. Hopefully the next stories in the series are more appropriate for kids.

Teacher assistants/paraprofessionals do amazing work and yet they often receive very little guidance. This is a book that explains many behavior principles (the ABC's of analysis, reinforcement, behavioral management, fading, etc.) in extremely clear language with an emphasis on usefulness. Dr. Baker gives guidance on token economies, visual calendars, visual schedules, social stories, and anger management. He tells how to prime students in order for them to be ready to face their challenges in the school day and he is very clear about what language to use and how to give clear instructions to students regarding their choices and what they should keep in mind, School districts should buy this book for all of their paraprofessionals!

In the outstanding and highly readable book, School Shadow Guidelines, authors Alex Liau and renowned autism expert, Dr. Jed Baker, explain that students engage in challenging behavior because they do not know a better way. The authors show how complex student behaviors such as angry outbursts and disruptive behavior can be addressed more effectively. In fact, the title of this book could be called Positive Behavior Management 101 because although the guidelines are for paraprofessionals who “shadow” students with special needs including autism, all educators and parents can use the positive strategies.

Many examples, case studies and handouts, provide the reader with tools to help understand the source of problematic behaviors and how to redirect those behaviors in a more positive direction. For example: how to prime a student for school, how to use social stories and avoid triggers and how to set up behavioral reinforcements.

I am grateful that authors Liau and Baker never lose sight of the fact that all students who may pose challenging behavior deserve to be treated with understanding, respect and dignity. School Shadow Guidelines is full of effective, research-based interventions and should be widely read by parents and educators alike.

Leckey's The Tenmile Country and Its Pioneer Families.

The term Tenmile Country refers to an area of land in Greene and Washington counties in southwestern Pennsylvania that is traversed by Tenmile Creek. During the early colonial period, this region of the Upper Monongahela, like that of Fort Duquesne (Pittsburgh) slightly to the north and what would become Morgantown, West Virginia to the south, was inhabited by the indigenous peoples; by French missionaries, trappers, and traders; and eventually by a number of intrepid British "trans-Allegheny pioneers." After 1750, however, the Tenmile Country--like the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia-- became a desired place of settlement or stopover point for the huge migration of Scotch-Irish, German, and to a lesser extent, British, colonists who extended American settlement beyond the Alleghenies. Migration to the Monongahela took place over three main routes: along the National Pike via Winchester, Virginia; through the Shenandoah Valley to the head of the Cheat River and from there to the Monongahela; and along the Lincoln Highway to Ligonier, Pennsylvania and thence along Jacob's Creek to the Monongahela. From the time of the French and Indian War to the end of the 18th century, the tributaries of the Tenmile Creek would be inundated by pioneers--many of them German or Scotch Irish, some of them the spillovers from the great migration into Kentucky, and still other travellers and immigrants who passed through Baltimore en route to one of the great migration trails.

The Tenmile Country and Its Pioneer Families was originally published as a series of newspaper articles by Mr. Leckey before being consolidated as a book in 1950 and then reprinted with an every-name index under the auspices of the Greene County Historical Society in 1977. The work commences with an historical overview of settlement in the Tenmile Country, and it concludes with the aforementioned index of some 30,000 entries. In between, the genealogist of southwestern Pennsylvania can savor 500 or more family histories, of varying lengths, which delineate the lineages of the many families who migrated into this area. The genealogies, which are arranged according to place of settlement, are periodically embellished with rosters of one sort or another, maps, facsimiles, and illustrations. Overall, the genealogical sketches cover or touch on more than 2,000 main families who settled in the Upper Monongahela during the final third of the eighteenth or first quarter of the nineteenth century.
